Tenant Community Comes Together to Support the Food Bank of Waterloo Region
At The Cora Group, we believe that thriving workplaces help create thriving communities. This year, our tenants once again demonstrated the incredible impact of collective giving through our annual Food Drive in support of the Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
Thanks to the generosity of tenants across our portfolio, the 2026 Food Drive raised $14,102 and collected 92 boxes of food, creating meaningful support for local individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Tenant donations totaled $7,051 and 46 boxes of food, and The Cora Group proudly matched every dollar and every box donated, doubling the final impact of the campaign.
Using the Food Bank’s estimate that every $1 donated helps provide two meals, the contributions from this year’s fundraiser represent the equivalent of 28,915 meals for people throughout Waterloo Region.
Doubling the Impact Through Community Partnership
One of the defining features of this year’s campaign was The Cora Group’s commitment to matching all monetary and food donations. By matching every tenant contribution dollar-for-dollar and box-for-box, every act of generosity went twice as far in supporting local food programs and helping address hunger in our community.
Throughout the campaign, collection bins were placed throughout participating buildings, making it easy for tenants to donate non-perishable food items while also contributing financially. The fundraiser concluded at our annual Tenant Appreciation BBQ, which served as the final day of donations and a celebration of the community spirit shown throughout the campaign.
The results are a testament to what can be achieved when businesses, employees, and community organizations work together toward a shared goal.
